Name Bugs - Easy and fun for all ages

This craft/art project comes from my mom, Patty. She taught grade school until she retired a few years ago. One of her kids' favorite art projects was "Name Bugs." She made one with me when I was little and has made one with my daughter. I love the simplicity of the craft and how beautiful they all turn out.

Here's what you need:

§  Construction paper--various colors

The library team, the Dracheneers (“Dragon Engineers,” more or less, in sort-of German) will be building a LEGO robot to compete in the 2011 worldwide team challenge, Food Factor. Over 200,000 kids from all over the world will be competing in teams of 10 to design an autonomous robot to solve a real-world challenge. “FLL Teams: Our Innovators of Tomorrow”!

Think you know New Braunfels? This exciting new event will be a city-wide scavenger hunt including many New Braunfels and Gruene landmarks and businesses. The event is a competition where teams navigate the streets, rivers, parks, and historic places of our area to score points as quickly as possible. Each team will try to decipher clues in order to find and document the answers which will earn points. The fastest teams of highest point scorers will win valuable prizes, not to mention "bragging rights" for the year.

Help a Teacher Out

Support the teachers in our community!

With all the budget cuts and strain on our education system recently, we (Parker Homes & Renovations) thought we would try to do a little something to help out some of our local teachers. We will be putting together a special "Back-To-School Package" for some deserving teachers in our area. Hopefully the package will help alleviate some of the "extra" costs for the teacher's school year and help him/her know that we as a community are here supporting what they do for our children.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake

Big Brothers Big Sisters for Comal County ‘Bowl for Kids Sake’ event this year will be Sunday July 31st from 2:00-4:00pm (practice bowl starts at 1:50pm) at Fiesta Lanes New Braunfels.

 The theme this year is "Disco Fever-Stayin' Alive!"

There will be a costume contest with some prizes and other entertainment for the guests.....
