This week’s Macaroni Mama is Elizabeth Winston-Williams. As owner of Belle Waxing and Skincare, she provides many services: facial and body waxing for women and men, customized skincare treatments and chemical peels, and massage therapy is coming soon! Elizabeth is also a licensed distributor for Jane Iredale, The Skin Care Makeup, and PCA Skin products.
Elizabeth says one of the best things about her business is that she can serve anyone – everyone has hair or skincare issues that I can help with, “I love performing every type of service – from an eyebrow-shaping to a special occasion makeup application. When I was growing up, I did not have a lot of self-confidence in my appearance. As I got older, I realized that the true beauty of a good nature radiates from within. My mission is to help my clients feel great about themselves and to boost their confidence in any way I can, and I am so blessed to be able to do that through Belle Waxing and Skincare.”
The aspect she loves the most about her business is that she gets to personally interact with many wonderful people each day, “I have always dreamed of an ideal situation where I could not only provide a service for a client, but chat with them, help them pick the right products for their skin, freshen up their look with makeup, and correspond with them after their appointment. I love that I get to do that now! I handle every aspect of this business, from making the appointment to checking on you after your chemical peel. My relationship with my clients is truly close and that is the way it should be. Everyone that walks through my door becomes a friend.”
We asked Elizabeth how she balances work and family. She told us that she tries to keep her life balanced by making sure to leave all the extra work at the business on her days off. Although she may check email a couple of times, she is careful to leave paperwork, etc. behind and focus on her family when she has time off. She closes the business doors on Mondays and always tries to go someplace fun with the family. “I love taking them swimming or to the movies. The beauty of owning your own business is that you can take time off when you really need to.” Her motto is to be as available to her family as she can be for her clients.
What do her kids think about their hard working mom? “My children, who are four and two years old, really grasp the concept that I own my own business. They love to come here and ‘help’ me, and often they will come and have lunch with me in the kitchen. My daughter, who is the little one, told me she was going to work the other night while she was playing. I asked her, ‘Where do you work?’ and she replied, ‘My business!’ I want to instill in both of my children that they can be successful if they work hard and put their energy into what they love.”
Elizabeth is proud to offer extremely personal service in every aspect of skin care at Belle Waxing & Skincare – whether it’s from achieving a great result with a chemical peel, treating adult or teen acne, learning how to apply mineral makeup, or making her clients feel more confident without unwanted hair. “I try to make my salon family-friendly, as I know from being a former stay at home mom, that sometimes it’s hard to get away from the kids. I work with clients’ schedules, so if they need to come in late or early I try to accommodate them. Most importantly, I’m here for the people in my community that I love!”
Elizabeth knows that there are some amazing small businesses here in New Braunfels, and they are a part of what makes our community so unique.
